i share a great friendly relationship with both my mamas’ (moms brothers). ive always loved to stay at their house whenever i had a chance, back in the days. first day of diwali/christmas/summer vacations, i was in parel playing cricket on nare park , eating 25 paisa golas and having the world famous deepfried sandwiches in the evenings, topped by aajis daal bhaat and rassa bhaji.
all that said, i just realised how i was grateful to have mahesh & chotu mama’s. the best thing about them is that more than half my tapori skills come from them. i learnt some of the most funniest words and impersonations from them. words like chor galli, hirvi chaddi (really stupid), sarpati dance (dances exhibited on ganesh visarjan), cha maila, sadyal et al were all trained to my toungue out here in their company.
i literally used to dictate my behavior here. that meant, getting a ride on the bike to see a movie in regal, going to dadar chowpatty with maushi and cousins to have pani puri and taking extra rides on the giant wheel in the fairs that used to happen during ganesh chaturthi at nare park.
gosh, i miss those days. –>
