Observation
My ‘chicken’ intake, after coming to the US has increased by 1892% for sure. Mom used to cook chicken at home may be once every 2 weeks. These were the special Sunday lunches which pulled me out of my couch and straight to it after a wholesome meal. My ‘regular’ meals were mostly vegetarian.
Now I can comfortably say am that I am a complete non-vegetarian. I eat meat (mostly chicken) almost everyday (which sadly has made me loose the charm for it).
So my observation #2728 is not the tremendous contradiction that I have seen between US and Indian meals. In my 4 yrs and 1 month in US, I have yet to see an alive chicken .. (may be) running freely on the streets (I am all for a ‘chicken lane’ on I-405 ;)). In contrast, I almost eat at least 1 everyday. In India, I could have guaranteed to see at least one ‘alive’ chicken; not caught in the shackles of any butcher.
Well, thats a Statistic!
And yes, its 11:11am Monday morning here.. and I am not drunk :).
